Training
At Dominion
Cad/Cam we provide comprehensive hands-on training that will allow you to
make the most of your Cad/Cam purchase. Training classes that are conducted
at our Lynchburg
facility are limited to 4 students so that we can deliver customized
training classes that fit your needs. For those who would rather learn at
their own pace, we have on-line training available in the form of streaming
video and can supplement this with live web-based training. We can also
make arrangements for on-site training to be conducted at your location.
Class Descriptions

2-D Mill
|
2 Days
|
Topics covered include:
Wire-frame geometry creation, basic solid modeling, file conversion, tool
and material libraries, 2-1/2 axis (Mill Level 1) machining functions,
customization, verification and 4th axis rotary operations.

3-D Mill
|
2 Days
|
This class is intended for
Mastercam users who have completed 2-D Mill & Advanced Design. All
aspects of 3D surface machining (rough & finish) CAD translation.

5-Axis
|
2 Days
|
Topics include positioning,
trimming, contouring, drilling, multi-surface swarf cutting, flow line,
tool control, lead/lag, and side tilt.

|
Lathe
|
1 Day
|
Items covered include roughing,
finishing, facing, grooving, and threading.
|
|
Advanced Lathe
|
1 Day
|
This class is intended for
Mastercam users who have completed Mastercam Lathe. All aspects of live
tooling, Y axis milling, Misc. Ops, sub-spindle programming, stock
transfer, C-axis, and 4 axis turning are covered.

|
Wire
|
2 Day
|
Items covered include 2 axis, 4
axis, chaining options and wire edm specific functions.
|
|
Solid Design
|
1 Day
|
This class covers all aspects of
solid and surface modeling. Topics include creating solids using extrude,
revolve, loft, swept, and filleting. Model editing using Solids Manager
is covered in detail as well as using boolean operations to create
complex solids.

On-site Training
On-site training at your company’s location is also available for any
of the above mentioned classes. Dominion Cad/Cam will provide the necessary computers and software
for the class.
